Cotton candy flavours: the ultimate taste test
Cotton candy (or fairy floss, depending on where you grew up) is one of those treats that never stops being magic. But the flavour debate is real: is pink really the best, or have we all just been too polite to try the others?
The classics
- Pink vanilla — the original, and still the one most people order first.
- Blue raspberry — the bold cousin; bright blue and noticeably sharper.
- Bubblegum — sweet, nostalgic, and dangerously easy to eat.
The wildcards
Grape, green apple, watermelon and mixed-berry floss sugars all spin just as well as the classics — the colour alone stops kids in their tracks. Most machines switch flavours simply by swapping the sugar, so running a two-flavour stall costs nothing extra.
Run your own taste test
- Spin three or four flavours and hand out small sample cups.
- Set up a chalkboard vote board — the crowd does your marketing for you.
- Sell the winner at a premium for the rest of the day.
The result is usually the same: pink wins the vote, and everyone buys a second cone anyway.
